We believe it is important in the ecosystem of Open Source Software that there exists an organisation who manages, in the best interest of the software and community, a stable release of the system.  We also believe that in order for this to be done properly and to provide long term security and value to companies who invest in such software, that this organisation should be profitable, or at least well funded.  OpenERP SA is this organisation and they operate a business model that allows for both a strong passion for the development and expansion of OpenERP, but also a company who looks after their bottom line.
